Gaming News 11/14/12

News for you Mass Effect fans like me, the new Mass Effect game will be made by Bioware Montreal using the Frostbite engine. The Frostbite engine has been used in Medal of Honor: Warfighter, Battlefield 3 and possibly the newest Dragon Age game: Inquisition. Yanick Roy said the new engine and story will bring about some changes but they are still trying to keep with what made the previous games so successful. No news on when the new Mass Effect or Dragon Age games are coming out but I'll be in the lines waiting to purchase them along with a mass of fans.

The Wii U still doesn't have any achievement system lined up like 360's or PS3's awards system. Some people may find this good or not. I personally don't feel either way about it and have not complained about Nintendo's previous systems not implementing this. It is still kind of soon though since the Wii U is coming out in less than a week (11/18 to be exact). They could have some type of rewards system and haven't yet spoken of it.
As a side note, pre-order your Wii U right now if you want it. Their supplies are limited and if you're not careful you may be stuck with the standard model if you are able to shell out the $300+ for the premium black version or have to buy the premium version if you only had money for the standard.

Valve confirms that a new next-gen source engine exists and they're just waiting for a game to roll with it. Most people will also note that there has been no news about Half Life 3 (or Half Life 2: Episode 3) so it may be possible that they will stick the engine onto this game.

Heart of the Swarm (the new Star Craft 2 expansion pack) has a release date coming March 12th 2013. I'm not a Star Craft player but I know that people like the game and its always nice to see good things get better.

New GTA V trailer out now. Unfortunately I'm unable to show it to you due to some weird thing but as always you can check it out on youtube.

Black Ops 2 is out and apparently was pretty good. However, I won't be able to do a review on it as I'm quote, "broke as sh*t".

Beyond Good and Evil 2 is still coming out, however, it has been slowed by the Rayman games.
On a side note, Rayman Legends for the Wii U has also been pushed back until early 2013.

Rejoice all you PS Vita users, PlayStation Plus is coming next week. Apart from that, the new update will bring Plus support, web browser enhancements, a new email client as well as improved wireless transfer between PS3 and PC. PlayStation Plus is a thing you have to subscribe to though. $50 for a year or 18 for a three month period. Another added bonus is also a bunch of free new games of which I neither have the details nor the date for when those will come. The new update comes on the 19th for the U.S. and 21st for the UK.
